The agreement
These terms are between you and nineteen87 LLC, which operates Leagology. By making an account or using a league site you accept them. If you don't, don't use the service.
Beta
Leagology is in beta and free. That cuts both ways: expect rough edges, pages that change shape, and features that arrive or move. We may change or withdraw features, and we may introduce paid plans in future — if we do, we'll say so before it affects an existing league, and a league that was here for the beta keeps the history it built.
Your account
You must be at least 13 to hold an account. Accounts are currently by invitation from a commissioner. Keep your password to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your login, and if you think it's been used by someone else, tell us.
One account, one person. Don't share a login around a league; invite people instead, so the record of who did what stays true.
Leagues and commissioners
A league site has commissioners, and a commissioner can do things that affect everyone in the league: publish and edit pages, invite and remove members, edit the manager profiles the site shows, connect a custom domain, and issue password reset links for members. Joining a league means accepting that its commissioners run it.
Commissioners: the members are trusting you with their names and their history. Use the admin tools for the league's benefit, keep member email addresses to yourself, and remember that a league site is public on the web unless every person on it understands otherwise.
We generally stay out of league disputes. We may step in where these terms are being broken.
Your content
Your league's content stays yours. Posts, bylaws, crests, images, manager bios, and the record of your seasons — we claim no ownership of any of it.
To host it we need your permission to do the things hosting requires: store it, back it up, resize and re-encode images, and display it to the readers you've made it available to. So you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to do exactly that, for as long as you keep the content on Leagology, and no longer. We won't use your league's content to advertise, and we won't sell it.
You are responsible for what you publish: that you have the right to post it, and that it isn't unlawful. Don't upload other people's copyrighted images and expect us to carry the risk.
Our content
The software, design, name and marks of Leagology are ours. Using the service doesn't give you a license to them beyond using the service as intended.
Fantasy data comes from your league's platform — Sleeper today — and is subject to that platform's own terms. Player names, NFL statistics and team marks belong to their owners; Leagology is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NFL, Sleeper, Yahoo, or ESPN.
Acceptable use
Don't use Leagology to:
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or publish someone's private information;
- post unlawful content, or content you don't hold the rights to;
- break into accounts, scrape at a scale that degrades the service, or work around rate limits and access controls;
- resell or white-label the service, or use it for gambling operations or anything requiring a license we don't hold.
League trash talk is the point of a league site and is not harassment. There is a line, and you know where it is.
Availability
We aim to keep Leagology up, and we don't promise it. There is no uptime guarantee during the beta. Synced fantasy data depends on your league's platform: if their API is down or changes, pages can go stale or a week's detail can be missing, and that's outside our control.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. What deletion does and doesn't remove is set out in the privacy policy.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it's reasonable to do so we'll warn you first and give you a chance to put it right, and we'll give you a way to get your content out.
Warranties and liability
Leagology is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or lost profits. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months — during the beta that is nothing — or US$50.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and if you're a consumer you keep every statutory right your local law gives you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page moves when we do, and material changes are noted in the changelog. Continuing to use Leagology after a change means you accept the new version; if you don't, delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction — except where the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim locally, which it may.
